Dashoguz is the capital of a province (welaýat) of Turkmenistan of the same name. It features an airport.
Notes on the city of Dashoguz
Dashoguz, formerly known as Tashauz (Russian: Ташауз, Turkmen: Taşauz) is an industrial city that also serves as a gateway to the Karakalpak region of neighboring Uzbekistan. Major industries include cotton processing and textile production. The city was known as Dashkhovuz from 1992 to 1999 (Russian: Дашхову́з, Turkmen: Daşhowuz).
