Green space access ITO map

The Green space access map on ITO Map highlights a range of 'green' areas and indicates if they are definitely available for use by the public, are definitely private or if the access status is unclear. Some areas are by definition open to the public (for example a village green), others, such as a park are likely to be available but one can not be user, for others it is impossible to say (a tennis court for example) etc. As well as indicating the likelihood of admittance, the map also shows incorrect tag combinations and ones that are discouraged.

| Dark green | Probably open to the public. Add appropriate access/fee tag to clarify. |
| Black | No accessibility information given or implied. Add access or fee tagging to clarify |
| Dark blue | Probably not open to the public. Add access or fee tagging to clarify |
| Light blue | Definitely not open to the public. No additional tagging needed. |
| Red | The tag combination is illegal or discouraged (landuse=wood or a village green that is tagged as being private for example). See below for details. |
Access tagging
The following access=* values are used to determine if an area is open to the public or not.
- Non public areas: access=no/private/official/military/argricultural/forestry/destination/restricted/delivery
- Public areas: access=yes/permissive/public
- Unknown access status: access=unknown
Alternatively fee=* can be used to specify if access is available with payment of a fee. Value include the following:
- free access: fee=no
- access available on payment of a fee: fee=yes, fee=$xx etc
- access is sometimes free and sometimes for a fee: fee=interval (see fee article for more details).

The following tags are checked and highlighted on the map in an appropriate colour:
