Describes the architectural time period/historical style of a node tagged with man_made=column
Values
The value of this tag follows the Any tags you like scheme, but first identify common values on taginfo before creating a new one
Values should follow the standard OSM syntax (e.g. column:architecture=ancient_greek), and can also take inspiration from the building:architecture=* values
Values should not describe the sculptural style (e.g. column:architecture=ionic) of the column. The column:style=* key should be used instead
Example Values
- column:architecture=roman - Roman architectural style
- column:architecture=ancient_greek - Ancient Greek architectural style
- column:architecture=ancient_egyptian - Ancient Egyptian architectural style
| column:architecture=ancient_egyptian | Rectangular blocks/complex designs carved into the shaft/trunk, with a patterned capital which is sometimes coloured |
In Combination with column:style=*
This table shows examples of column:architecture=* and column:style=* pairings, as well as which column:architecture=* value is the default for each column:style=* value when no column:architecture=* is provided
A brief description (from someone that knows very little about columns & historical architecture) as well as an example image is provided for some cases
