The Arizona Transportation Information System is an internal index and nomenclature used by the Arizona Department of Transportation (ADOT) to designate and organize state-owned, operated and/or designated highways. This internal designation type is not limited to Arizona State Routes, but also extends to U.S. Highways, Interstates, and Interstate Business Loops (which are recognized as State Route Business Loops). It is unknown exactly what year or decade ATIS has been in use, though surviving State Highway System Logs within the state archives show the system was in use by 1975.

More specific details about ATIS designations can be found on the Wikipedia article List of state routes in Arizona.
