Main article: Names

Official strapline used in an advertising slogan, commonly seen on shop advertising material, promotional brochures, marketing gifts and signs. Also known as advertising phrase, catchphrase, tagline or motto.

Note that OSM follows On the Ground Rule. Names recorded in name=* and strapline=* tag are ones that are locally used, especially ones typically signposted[1].

Values

Key variants can be suffixed with date namespace suffix (such as "strapline:en:1921-1932").

Additional data

  • strapline=* tag is supposed to contain solely the strapline posted next to the name on official banners, not to describe the type or location of the object or one of its other properties (such as height, elevation, operator, access restrictions, classification/certification/quality labels...).
