Short impression how the State of the Map 2011 would look like

July 8th to 10th (Fri - Sun), Friday could be the "Pro" users day. Two main rooms with sessions, a third smaller room with workshops. There should be more focus on technical talks, IMO. Venue should fit for 250+ people.

AGIT conference will take place July 6th to 8th, maybe there will be some people travelling from Salzburg to Vienna (probably by train or car). AGIT will have an OSM emphasis next year.

Evening events could be:

visiting a Viennese "Heurigen" in Grinzing
probably traveling to the "Heurigen" with historical trams (doing some sightseeing ;)
a nice dinner

We could also visit Copa Cagrana or enjoy a river cruise on the Danube .

How to get there:

Vienna International Airport (VIE) is serviced by many low cost carriers (Easyjet, bmi, Air Berlin, Germanwings; Austrian offers cheap "red ticket" if booked in advance) - Cat Train or S-Bahn bringing you directly into the city
Ryanair uses Bratislava Airport (BTS), there is a Bus Shuttle to/from Vienna
Main train stations from every direction (Westbahnhof, Meidling, Südbahnhof (under construction, will be the new central station), Franz-Josefs-Bahnhof).
Motorways from the West (A1; , , ), South (A2; , ), East (A4; , ) and North (A5; ).

There is plenty accommodation in the city, ranging from hostels to luxury hotels. All suggested hotel venues offer rooms at special rates, especially the Europahaus Wien offers single for EUR 59,-/double for EUR 41,- (per person per night, including breakfast).
