Stockton-on-Tees is a town and unitary borough in the North East of England. The area of Stockton North of the Tees which includes Stockton town itself is in County Durham for ceremonial purposes whereas South of the Tees is in the county of North Yorkshire.

The unitary authority of Stockton-on-Tees together with those of Durham (Unitary Authority), Hartlepool and Darlington form the ceremonial county of County Durham.
