Status: de facto

A point where two tracks cross each other and trains cannot move from one track to the other. May be known in various regions as a flat junction, level junction, diamond junction or diamond crossing.

In most cases they are passive, but if the angle they cross is too steep, they may be active. See Diamond Switch on Wikipedia.

Single- and double-slip switches (railway=switch + railway:switch=single_slip or railway:switch=double_slip) are visually similar to level junctions, but do enable trains to move from one track to the other. These are less common and may require consulting track diagrams to determine whether they are slip switches or truly level junctions.
