Wikimania 2014 London
Wikimania 2014 London was held on 8th - 10th Aug. Wikimania is the annual international conference of Wikipedia (and other Wikimedia projects).
OSM birthday clash
The conference was over the same weekend as the OpenStreetMap 10th Anniversary Birthday party. A clash with upsides.

OpenStreetMap sessions
At the conference OpenStreetMap was mentioned in various sessions, but there were also a few sessions scheduled for a maptastic Saturday morning.
