This tag is used in conjunction with railway=station to describe a subway station, also known as a metro, tube, U-Bahn, underground, or heavy rail transit station. A subway train system is completely separated from other traffic, in central areas often underground, sometimes elevated. Despite the name, some subway lines and stations may be entirely above the ground.
How to map
For subway stations just add one node in the center of the station.
