Mapping Guidelines
Mapping Villages and other Urban Areas
Draw a line for the boundary and add these tags. boundary=administrative, admin_level=7 for cities, 8 for towns, 9 for villages, 10 for hamlets, neighbourhoods, suburbs, etc.
Then place a node at the center of the most built up area (or geographical center) and add all the tags for that village.
Last of all create a multipolygon relation on the boundary line with tags place=*, name=*, and then add the central node to the relation and give it the 'label'
