Karlsruhe Hack Weekend October 2017
What's the plan? / Was ist geplant?
We're having an OSM hack weekend in Karlsruhe, Germany, on 21/22 October 2017.
Surely you have some unfinished OSM projects or some good ideas for new ones. Bring them with you to Karlsruhe. You will find people to discuss the details with you, or build something.
Location / Der Ort
We meet at the Geofabrik office in Karlsruhe.
The tram station Europaplatz is the closest to the office.
Das Hack-Weekend findet in den Büroräumen der Geofabrik statt.
Die Straßenbahnhaltestelle Europaplatz ist vom Hauptbahnhof aus gut erreichbar und liegt relativ nahe am Geofabrik-Büro.

Food and drink / Essen und Trinken
Geofabrik provides snacks and beverages. For lunch we usually order pizza. Dinner is usually in a restaurant or pub nearby but we have on occasion also eaten in.
Die Geofabrik versorgt Euch mit Getränken und Knabberzeug. Mittagessen gibts vom Pizzadienst, abends gehen wir meist in ein Restaurant in der Nähe.
Accommodation / Übernachtung
You have to organize your accommodation yourself. Members of the Karlsruhe OSM community might be willing to offer free accommodation if you're interested. A list of suitable hotels (all in walking distance):

Results
Hartmut
- Helped an ex-coworker in Berlin with setting up a local MapOSMatic test instance (remote work)
- Did some work-related writing on MariaDB GIS features (internal document)...
- Some minor MapOSMatic GUI improvements
- First tries towards a "running" or "fitness" layer for fitness trails, jogging/running and nordic walking routes. A first proof-of-concept Overlay style is available online for printing, but requires some more work
- Started test installation of actual WayMarkedtrails web frontend in my MapOSMatic test VM setup
- Tried to track down some unexpected database slowness on my MapOSMatic machine
- Prepared to switch over to Svens version of the PTmap style on github
- ...some talking, some more or less silent cursing, ...
