The key campus=* is used to describe the contiguous complex of buildings belonging to the same amenity=university  Campus.

What is a university ?

Institutions of higher education include universities, universities of applied sciences, colleges of art and music in public, private or ecclesiastical sponsorship. For each university there should be exactly one object with amenity=university. For a closed campus, this is an area , if the university spans multiple areas, a multipolygon .

What is part of the university campus ?

The individual higher education institutions should not be tagged with amenity=university, but with :

• campus=* - Name of the contiguous complex
• building=university - University building
• building=dormitory - Dormitory
• amenity=canteen - Canteen
• amenity=library - Library
• telecom=data_center - Data Center
• office=university - A single office
• office=association - Student association
• association=student - Optional, implicitly given if you name the faculty (filterable)
• faculty=* - Faculty
• room=lecture_hall -  Lecture_hall
• operator=* - Operator (University or school name)
