Indicates the orientation/direction of parked cars on a parking area in relation to the carriageway/traffic flow. In particular suitable for parking=street_side parking areas, and applicable to parking=lane as well (these will usually have the value parallel). This orientation value is equivalent to the corresponding values of the parking:lane=* scheme, which is used to indicate parking as a property of the highway=* ways (where parking areas are not mapped separately).
Valid values are:
Value | Image | Description |
---|---|---|
perpendicular | parking at right angle/orthogonal/90 degrees to the road/traffic flow | |
parallel | parallel to/same direction as the street/traffic flow | |
diagonal | angle parking, usually at an angle between 45 and 60 degrees |
